Jill David’s Gallery
Jill David has been knitting since she was six and cannot imagine being without needles in her hands. She took up spinning 20 years ago when she became frustrated by the difficulty in obtaining natural fibre and woolen yarns, and by the garish colours of commercially produced synthetic yarns. Jill loves traditional patterns and experiments with natural dyes, most of which she prepares herself, from plants grown on her allotment. Over the years she has added to her knowledge by spending time with textile workers in Scotland, Peru, Turkey and Monument Valley USA, places where one can still learn traditional skills. As a member of the Association of Weavers Spinners and Dyers, Jill has had work shown at both UK and Welsh exhibitions. She loves making heirloom baby shawls and will make one to order given two months notice.
